Negli scorsi anni siamo stati abituati agli addii di dirigenti e staff a Blizzard, ed in questa serata del 20 aprile è arrivato il momento dei saluti anche per Jeff Kaplan, storico game director di Overwatch.
L’annuncio è arrivato da Kaplan stesso tramite un post sul sito ufficiale della compagnia, rivelando inoltre che a prendere le redini come director dello shooter hero sarà adesso Aaron Keller, un altro membro fondatore del team di Overwatch.
La separazione di Jeff Kaplan da Blizzard arriva come un fulmine a ciel sereno, ed è probabilmente l’addio più pesante per l’azienda dopo quello dell’ex CEO Mike Morhaime nel 2018. Al momento non ci sono dettagli sulle motivazioni che hanno portato il director ad abbandonare la nave, e non ci resta che aspettare dunque novità in merito. i am leaving Blizzard Entertainment after 19 amazing years.
it was truly the honor of a lifetime to have the opportunity to create worlds and heroes for such a passionate audience. i want to express my deep appreciation to everyone at blizzard who supported our games, our game teams and our players. but i want to say a special thanks to the wonderful game developers that shared in the journey of creation with me.
never accept the world as it appears to be. always dare to see it for what it could be. i hope you do the same.
